Honorary Austrian

Not many people know this, but James Miller, head of Scotland's Miller Group, is the Austrian Consul in Edinburgh. How did this honour descend upon his shoulders? Was it, perhaps, in recognition of his company's involvement with the New Austrian Tunnelling Method - pioneered in the UK with Austrian contractor Beton-und-Monierbau?
