Digbits boosts buckets
Previously mini excavators came complete with general pupose
digging buckets. Applications such as cable TV and utilities work
have increased demand for more robustly constructed trenching
buckets, claims bucket manufacturer Digbits.
When civil engineering contractor J Murphy began cable duct laying
work in the Wolverhampton area, the buckets on its Kubota KX41
machines wore rapidly. Cannock-based Digbits developed a heavy duty
digging bucket to withstand arduous duties. These were tested to
the maximum during work in the Black Country, where the steel work
slag found underneath the pavements is extremely abrasive.
Bolt-on sidecutters protect the bucket sides and are easily
replaced. Thicker back plates are reinforced with wear
straps.
