œ35m of roads out for prequal
The œ25 million A19 Norton Parkway improvement between
Stockton and Middlesbrough is out for prequalification. Provided
there are no delays, the scheme should go out to tender in
September or November.
Work is currently due to begin on site in January 1995. The project
will involve the widening of the existing dual carriageway and
improvements to two interchanges. Six large structures will have to
be built.
Also out for prequalification is the Bedfordshire County Council
scheme, the A507 Arlesey-Stotfold Bypass. The project is estimated
to cost from œ8 million to œ10 million. The work involves
construction of 1km of 9.3m wide single carriageway and 5.5km of
12m wide single carriageway. Three roundabouts and a river bridge
are included in the scheme.
