Birse to pipe water to Grimsby area
Birse Construction has picked up two pipeline contracts worth a
total of œ5.6 million for Anglian Water. The work is for the
first two phases of the Humber Bank strategy which is designed to
improve water supply in the Grimsby area.
The 35-week first phase will involve laying 14km of 800mm ductile
iron pipework from Elsham to Habrough. The larger 34-week second
phase involves laying 45km of pipeline - 9km of 500mm ductile iron
pipe and 32km of welded steel pipe in 800mm, 900mm and 1000mm
diameter.
