Andover keeps a low profile
Andover Trailers is introducing a new, low-profile neck across its
entire range of low loaders.
The design was originally produced to meet the requirements of
Tony Harte, general manager of PW (Nigeria), and its UK agent McQ
International Services of Portadown, Northern Ireland, exporter of
quarrying and construction equipment.
Design brief was to keep the overall length of the trailer as short
as possible, but at the same time make it suitable for carrying
equipment such as motor graders and bulldozers.
Armed with this information Andover produced a deck length of just
7m complete with a hydraulic neck specially constructed to sit
above the tractor unit with minimum clearance. With this design
motor scraper bonnets are now able to go up over the neck.
The design first applied to Andover's 95t tri-axle low loader is
now being added to its full range of hydraulic necks, which impose
a load of between 16 and 45t.
