CJ's impartiality and professionalism was evident throughout the
test and FERMEC is delighted to note that the measured figures not
only validate our own findings but endorse customer feedback
received since the successful launch of the new range at SED'93.
The back to back tests on a mid-range MF860 and previous top of the
range MF60HX, fitted with identical ground engaging equipment,
highlighted the superiority of the new loader/backhoe design,
especially with respect to productivity and fuel consumption. The
performance as tested demonstrated the progress made in the
loader/backhoe design, with superior traction, stability, fuel
economy, productivity and overall operator comfort.
Powered by the Perkins 1004.4 turbocharged engine and balanced with
the unique MF industrial five speed Powershuttle transmission, the
MF860 performed admirably. Lower ratios in the first three gears,
(compared with a basic four speed transmission), combined with the
16/70 x 20 large front tyres, provided the improved traction to
romp away with both the stockpile and basement ramp tests.
It is pleasing to note CJ's recognition that both the
serviceability and daily maintenance have not been ignored. The
excellent service access with all functions addressed from ground
level was a major design requirement.
