Backing for Bristol project

Bristol's œ250 million Harbourside project received a boost this week as it won vital backing from English Partnerships. The agency will support Bristol in its quest for further Government funding via schemes such as the Single Regeneration Budget. Detailed business plans are being worked on for individual elements of the scheme. These will be marketed from March 1995.

All the Harbourside landowners have signed an agreement to work together to implement an agreed development framework for the 26ha site. Plans include a centre for the performing arts, a special format cinema, an electronic zoo, a new home for the Exploratory, 800 homes, offices, cafes and restaurants.
