JCB's first buyer of its recently launched JS150W wheeled excavator
is London based road construction company G and Q
Construction.
Since its acquisition, the company has been using the machine on
contracts on the M25 and A1-M1 link road.
Operator Steve Harris, who has been behind the controls on the
A1-M1 project, said: 'It is vital to have a reliable machine on
contracts like this and this machine has performed very well since
we got it.
'It is very quiet and there is a good spacious cab - a lot of
thought has gone into the cab from the point of view of the driver.
The adjustable steering wheel is particularly good, especially when
working in close, and visibility is first class.'
'On the M25 job there was another rubber duck which could not dig
the chalk, but this one managed it.'
JCB's wheeled excavators are based on the upper structure of the
company's JS series crawler excavator. Features common to both are
the cab, Japanese hydraulics, Isuzu engine combined with a JCB-SCM
chassis, and ZF axles and transmissions.
