Jewson orders 100 Pel-Jobs

Jewson's Hire Point division, which comprises 80 branches, has placed an order for 100 Pel-Job 12.4 mini excavators to add to its existing fleet of 100. The order, part of Jewson's 1994 expansion programme, was the result of a second review of Pel-Job's machines.

Hire Point originally standardised on Pel-Job's 1290kg mini in 1991 as the result of a six-month evaluation process concentrating on machine performance, specification, capital return and customer preference.

Following the company's second assessment of Pel-Job's minis, divisional manager, Malcolm Boyce said: 'There was nothing to make us change our mind on our original choice of machine'. To date Hire Point's principal customer base is small and medium size builders.
