David Ballard has been appointed Director Designate at the Glass
and Glazing Federation where he will take up that position at the
beginning of August. He joins the GGF from having been Deputy
Director at the British Construction and Steelwork Association.
Amec Design and Management Ltd has appointed Bill Daly, 38, as
director of its Glasgow office. He is responsible for the company's
operations in Scotland, ensuring its design, engineering,
construction and project management service to clients in industry
and commerce continues to flourish.
Christine Tacon has been appointed marketing director of Redland
Bricks, the UK's leading manufacturer of facing bricks. Tacon
joined Redland on 13 June, and will provide strategic marketing
direction for the company, which is the UK brick making division of
the international construction materials group Redland Plc.
Ian Elliott becomes the new md of Haswell Consulting Engineers with
effect from 1 July 1994. Elliott, 46, who was appointed Managing
Director Designate in April, succeeds Stuart Aldridge who is
retiring.
Mark Baker 32, formerly contracts manager with building and
maintenance company Cruse & Bridgeman of Torquay, has been
promoted to manager of sister company Western Stone which operates
from the same premises in Woodland Close, Torquay.
At cost management consultant Currie & Brown Giles Harrison has
been appointed a partner of Currie & Brown. Based in Redbourn,
St Albans, he specialises in building work. Peter Burns,
responsible for the Portsmouth office, and Andrew MacGregor, who
specialises in engineering projects and is Falkirk-based, have been
invited to joint the main board.
