Gammon seizes Far East work

Gammon Construction, jointly owned by Trafalgar House and Jardine Pacific, has continued its run of success in Hong Kong and China by securing new contracts worth a total of œ360 million.

Following its œ40 million win with Nishimatsu for the foundations of the new passenger terminal at Chek Lap Kok, Gammon has gone on to win a œ50 million contract for the foundations of a commercial complex at Tat Chee Avenue in Yau Yat Tsuen.

The contract is a joint venture with Dragages et Travaux Publics and Bachy Soletanche. The work involves the construction of large diameter bored piles, diaphragm walls, caissons and ground anchors.

The company has two further contracts in Hong Kong, each worth œ16 million, for drainage maintenance and construction in Mainland Southern District, and marine bored piles for four ferry piers in Victoria Harbour.
