PCM, the construction and project management arm of Tom Pettifer, has been awarded the construction management contract for a œ20 million Savacentre store at Sydenham in London.



Birse has a œ6.4 million contract from Nuffield Hospitals for a new three-storey hospital in Brighton. The 400 room building will be built in 59 weeks.



Northern General Hospital NHS Trust in Sheffield is seeking contractors to build an œ8.5m, four-storey (inc. basement) cardiology unit using steel frame, tiled, pitched roof and brickwork outer skin.



The University of Aberdeen is planning to build an Institute of Medical Sciences. The scheme will be built in two phases of œ5m and œ8m, though if finance becomes available for the second phase before the issue of phase one tenders, the whole scheme may be let as a serial contract.

Lanarkshire structural steel contractor Bone Steel, formerly Bone, Connell & Baxter, has secured a contract from Safeway to erect all of the retailer's superstores north of Birmingham over the next 12 months. It has new orders worth œ4m.



Warings Contractors has won a œ4.8m contract to build a new 3,500m2 HQ and 11,000m2 regional distribution centre at Eastleigh for Watson & Philip, owners of the Circle K retail chain.



Osprey Project Management has been appointed by the Department of National Heritage to provide project management and architectural services on the first phase of the restoration and conservation of the Albert Memorial. A contract will be let soon. The overall cost of the project is œ13m.



MWH Project Services has been appointed project manager on the new British and German embassies in Quito, Ecuador. Monro White Hilton & Partners has been appointed quantity surveyor.
