The latest machine from Ingersoll-Rand's ground engineering
division, Klemm, is a new version of the KR-806 rig.
The Klemm KR 806-1 double head anchor drilling rig features the
open profile Klemm 240/8 chainless drill mast with a directly
coupled feed cylinder, a new hydraulic clamping and breaking
device, and an integrated drill guide. It can also be fitted with a
new external control panel, actuating drill functions through
electro-proportional control.
Double head percussive drill ing, claimed to be the most modern
system on the market, can be used on this model, enabling it to
reach depths of up to 200m. The KR 806-1 can also be fitted to
handle rotary, auger, down the hole, top hammer, and all overburden
or rock drilling jobs.
The flexible boom and drifter assembly means it can be modified for
high pressure or jet grout ing applications.
Powered by a 109kW Deutz BF6L913 engine, the rig offers feed and
retraction forces of 40kN and 80kN respectively.
The segmented extendable mast makes 'one-pass' drilling possible
and with 170o of tilt and 45o of slew each side, it is adaptable.
The 400mm wide crawler tracks can be oscillated through +/- 15o,
and the 400mm ground clearance provides tramming.
