Power in a small package

Launching a new generation of mini-excavators, Pel-Job of Basingstoke claims that its 3.2t EB306 and 3.7 T EB 406 are the most powerful and quietest in their class.

The new machines are powered by Mitsubishi engines, and the 20kW power pack for the EB 306 and 27.2kW engine fitted to the EB 406 represent a 25% increase on previous models.

These low emission engines are coupled to a two pump hydraulic system designed for smooth operation and low fuel consumption.

New low-speed, high torque slew motors incorporate a power braking valve evolved by Pel-Job's own hy draulics company, Hydromo, and provide high levels of precision and smoothness in operation.

The new kingpost design pro vides excellent clearance and minimises wear, while the ROPS/FOPS cab offers high visibility and comfort.

Digging depth of the EB306 is 2,695mm with a reach of 4,605mm. Comparable figures for the EB406 are 3,033 and 4,949mm respectively.

Both machines have a 140o boom offset, with the boom mounted slightly to one side of the machines' centre line to give an 80o offset to the left and an uninterrupted view while working. As an option, Pel-Job's patented quick-hitch bucket change system can be fitted, with either mechanical or hy draulic disconnect system.
