Charlie checks his tyres
Preparation is well underway for the Land's End to John O'Groats
charity drive by Selwood's Charlie Rayner for the Leeds General
Infirmary.
Goodyear has carried out extensive tyre testing to find the best
compound and tread pattern for the charity trip in a 6t dumper, due
to start 23 July. A company spokesperson reported that the high
probability of rain on parts of the course precluded slicks so
all-weather special radials would be used. Rayner is making the run
to raise money to replace life saving computer equipment stolen
from the Leeds Hospital. He is confident of maintaining race
schedule to make the first half day pit stop at Dortmund Square,
Leeds on Monday 25 July and John O'Groats on Friday.
