Edinburgh hotel up for grabs
Plans for a œ13 million hotel in Edinburgh have been submitted
to the district council by developer Kantel MacDonald Orr in
partnership with a major hotel group. The scheme comprises a
129-bedroom building in Morrison Street, between Haymarket and the
new Edinburgh Conference Centre.
Outline consent is also being sought for a second phase building,
which will provide an additional 154 rooms. If the application is
successful, construction work could start in January 1995. The
five-storey building, designed by Kantel's own in-house architects,
will have a traditional stone-faced finish.
