Money up front

Subcontractor Keary Developments, which supplied labour for road widening work on the M40, has failed in its fight to ward off moves to make them put money up front before they sue Tarmac Construction over an alleged debt of œ600,000.

The House of Lords has upheld an Appeal Court ruling which stayed the proceedings in the claim until Keary put up œ100,000 as security for costs.
