Morrison takes A74 upgrade

Morrison Construction has won a œ13 million design and construct contract for the next section of the A74 upgrade to motorway standard.

The Ecclefechan to Eaglesfield phase 2 section in Dumfries and Galloway, covers 2.6km of motorway and 1.4km of secondary roads. Six structures, including two overbridges and two underbridges will be built.

Morrison has already completed an earlier section of the M74, in a jv with Christiani and Neilsen, between Nether Abingdon and Elvanfoot.

This latest section will join up with the Ecclefechan to Eaglesfield phase one, currently being constructed by Miller and the Eaglesfield to Kirkpatrick Fleming being built by Castelli Girola.
