Raglan plans approved
Plans by Raglan Properties for a œ40 million shopping centre
in Banbury, Oxfordshire have been granted planning permission by
Cherwell District Council. Raglan anticipates work starting late in
1995.
The site adjoins the existing Castle shopping centre in the town
centre and will comprise 23,000m2 of gross space. This will include
11,680m2 reserved for a major department store and two other large
stores. A further 11,310m2 will be divided into 30 or 40 smaller
shop units.
Other features include: parking for 1,500 cars (including 600 new
spaces), restaurants, cafes and shops fronting the canal and
restored, historic dry dock; a 10 bay bus station and an extension
to the existing Marks and Spencer store. Architects are Lyons,
Sleeman, Hoare.
