H&H wins Park Lane job
Higgs and Hill has won a major design and build contract, thought
to be worth around œ20 million, to build luxury apartments in
London's exclusive Park Lane.
The existing Brook House, owned by the Duke of Westminster's
Grosvenor Estates, is to be demolished. Normally demolition would
be out of the question, but an exception has been made because the
building is full of asbestos. The new building will be
eight-storeys high with basement car parking.
The lease has been sold to an unknown buyer, who has formed a
company to redevelop the site into a series of luxury apartments.
Ascot Demolition is to demolish the existing Brook House, floor by
floor, after a sister company has been employed to remove the
asbestos. The demolition will be done under a 14 week fast track
contract.
A crane was moved on site last weekend.
