Costain praised as 'considerate'

Costain's œ16.3 million commercial project at Great Portland Street has won the firm first prize in Westminster Council's considerate contractor awards.

The contractor was praised for the particular attention it paid to the needs of blind pedestrians at the site.

Since the scheme started in 1989, 715 sites have joined the scheme and four have been banned. Two unnamed guilty parties were forced to leave the scheme this year when 120 active sites were inspected.
