Laing NatWest tower refurb
John Laing has won the main contract to refurbish the bomb damaged
NatWest Tower in the City of London. Crown House Engineering will
be mechanical and electrical and public health subcontractor, while
the recladding will be undertaken by Schmidlin UK. The total cost
of the refurbishment is estimated at around œ80 million.
The appearance of the tower will remain the same, although
accommodation and support buildings will be upgraded to meet
current modern office standards.
The bank's own in-house team will be project manager and architects
are GMW Partnership, advised by original architects Richard Seifert
and Partners.
