Trafalgar House subsidiary Rashleigh Phipps has made Trevor Randall its finance director. He moves from the same position at sister company Agent Plant. Nick Winter becomes major works contracts associate director. He is currently overseeing the firm's refurb of the Bank of England's print works.

Contractor John Bates of Smethwick, West Midlands has appointed its finance director, Barry Garrett, to the post of managing director, while BarryJones joins the board as contracts director.

Karen Stewart is the new business development manager of west London-based D&B and refurb specialist Ellis Construction. She has worked for the firm's subsidiaries Campbell Armstrong and Pioneer Concrete.

Barratt Construction has appointed two senior contracts managers in Scotland: Norman Marshall will cover the central region, and David Downie the north eastern patch. The firm's Maltings project in Edinburgh sees Ken McLeod become contracts manager.

Woodbridge, Suffolk-based small-builder supplier Banyard & Houchell has made Paul Rose its yard manager.

Nigel Cowern has joined Johnston Construction of Redhill, Surrey as marketing manager.

The new senior land manager for Redrow Homes in the south-west and south Wales is Rob Flood. Over the past 10 years he has worked for private housebuilders in the south-east, including Birse, Bryant and Wimpey.

London-based surveyor Lawson-Price has made Geraint Hughes a planning associate. It has also appointed surveyors Tim Bishop (property services), Paul Chadwick (archaeology), Kevin Goodwin (planning and environmental), and Andrew Lowe (planning) to the practice.
