Anfield Kop cranes to get a steel lift

Two Demag AC1600 500t cranes were needed to lift these two girder sections into place at the Kop end of Anfield stadium.

The girders, each weighing 111t, were spliced together while resting on a temporary trestle. They will form part of Anfield's new 12,000 seat stand which is being constructed by Alfred McAlpine at a cost of œ7.3 million. Wescol was subcontractor on the lift.
