Case doubles net income
Case Corp, one of the world's largest agricultural and construction
equipment manufacturers, has more than doubled its net income in
the second quarter.
Part of US industrial giant Tenneco, Case's net income before
extraordinary items was œ35 million to 30 June 1994. Net sales
in the second quarter were œ710 million, 4% up on the same
time last year.
Improved performance is linked with an upturn in Europe's
construction equipment market, better pricing, restructuring
measures begun in March 1993, and product development.
During the last quarter, Case retail sales of construction
equipment in Europe grew 21%.
