Anneka's challenge
Taylor Woodrow will star in the BBC's Challenge Anneka programme
this Saturday (3 September) when the company attempts to build an
indoor riding school for disabled children in 72 hours.
The work involved clearing the site and using precast concrete
bases and a steel structure to build the riding school, which
measures 50m by 30m.
The firm was approached by the Challenge Anneka programme to build
the facility at Wormwood Scrubs Pony Centre in London as facilities
were inadequate for a gymkhana. Project manager Bram Paton said:
'This was one of the most challenging and rewarding projects I have
worked on. I lost my voice on day two and was totally exhausted at
the end.'
The firm was helped by Natta Construction, Costain, British Steel,
Robinson Construction, Magnet and Henderson Bostwick and London
Electricity.
But if you want to know if they succeeded or not, you will have to
wait until Saturday to find out.
