Amec refurb for Victoria tube toria

Amec is to carry out a œ9 million improvement to Victoria underground station in London. The aim of the two and a half year job is to relieve congestion at London's busiest underground station, which handles around 80 million passengers a year.

An additional subway will be constructed to link the eastbound District and Circle Line to the escalators serving the Victoria Line. The concourses at the foot of both sets of escalators will be enlarged and a new escalator will replace an existing fixed stair.
