SGB reaches to heaven
The oldest and most restored Anglican Cathedral in the world is
being given yet another facelift with the help of a dramatic SGB
scaffold system.
Stokes Decorators is cleaning years of grime from the decorated
roof of Cardiff's Llandaff Cathedral but needed a leg up to do the
work. The job is complicated by the need to continue church
services and the obligation that scaffolding should be
unobtrusive.
The scaffold comprises two 12.5 m high SGB Youngman BOSS tower
units supporting a cantilevered structure designed to follow the
shape of the pitched roof and reaching a height of 17m.
