Taywood on track in Malaysia
Taylor Woodrow Projects (Malaysia) is carrying out the design and
build work for Phase One of the Kuala Lumpur light rail transit
system.
The contractor is currently erecting pre-cast, pre-stressed
concrete deck segments via a 200t, 100m long launching gantry using
a balanced cantilever method. This will form a 2.5km long viaduct
to take the system through the congested town.
The œ300 million project to build the 12km link is due for
completion in the summer of 1996. Taylor Woodrow International is
building the scheme with AEG Schienenfahrzeuge.
