Tarmac Construction's Building Division has appointed Kevin Jones (39) as area manager for south Wales, based in Cardiff. He was previously in charge of Tarmac Construction's office in Swindon, Wiltshire.

Leona Bendall has been appointed to the new post of group corporate and investor relations manager at Beazer Homes. She will work with the board and its advisors on communications with the City, shareholders and on the group's future development plans.

Construction and cost managers, Rose Blizzard & Associates have appointed Peter McCrone as an associate of the practice. He will be responsible for the management of their new office at Brunswick Square, Gloucester, which was recently opened to serve the south west.

Kier International has appointed James Young as plant manager for international operations. The appointment reflects Kier's growing workload abroad where larger projects mean increased heavy plant requirements.

The Farnham based contractor, Barnes & Elliott, has appointed Stephen Goodman as managing director. Goodman has 18 years experience as a QS and has been brought in to develop the company and expand into a wider field of operations.

John Laing has appointed Malcolm Trusler as group chief quantity surveyor. Trusler has been with Laing since 1970, most recently as director of quantity surveying, a job he took over in 1992. Laing Homes Special Projects has promoted Tom Carroll as area director, replacing Bill Patrickson who retired at the end of 1994 after 42 years with Laing.
