Trade missions
There will be seven construction trade missions during 1995, each led by a government minister, with the aim of supporting the export efforts of UK contractors, consultants and suppliers. Destinations include Syria, Mexico, Israel, South America, Hong Kong and India.
Export breakfasts
Environment Minister Robert Jones has met building material producers in the Midlands to discuss export opportunities. Jones listened to the problems the firms have in maintaining and increasing export levels. Jones said: 'I want to talk face-to-face with business people at the sharp end. The breakfasts are proving to be an excellent way of learning about producers' concerns .'
