British Land deal saves Stanhope

Stanhope - one of the biggest and most progressive developers of the 1980s - has been saved from financial collapse by a rescue takeover deal.

Rosehaugh, its jv partner for schemes such as Broadgate, bit the dust over two years ago. But a œ3.5 million bid from British Land has saved Stanhope from following suit.
