Bid for Holzmann to hit CTRL teams
The threatened takeover of German construction giant Philip
Holzmann by Hochtief could upset the bidding for the Channel Tunnel
Rail Link as the contractors are in rival consortia.
Hochtief says that if it is successful it would not make economic
sense to continue with two bids.
At the moment Holzmann is in a consortium with Mowlem, AEG and Spie
Batignolles - TayWood has already withdrawn from this group.
Hochtief is bidding with Costain, Siemens and Nishimatsu.
