Amec lifts CJ40 trophy
Amec has won the CJ40 League trophy for the first time after
picking up œ847 million-worth of qualifying contracts during
1994, over œ100 million more than John Laing.
After leading the field for three successive years, Laing had to
settle for second place this time.
Amec built up an unassailable position during 1994, topping the
monthly CJ40 tables on no less than five occasions.
Half the companies in the Top 40 list climbed up the ranks. The
most noticeable improvers were Hall & Tawse, up from No. 20 to
No.13; Wiltshier, six places higher at No. 20; and Morrison, now
No. 32 after appearing half-a-dozen places lower last year.
