M77 protestors take over crane

Anti-road protestors claim to have occupied a crane operated by Wimpey at the Jarman Leisure complex in Hemel Hempstead in protest at the firm's involvement in the M77 Ayr route in Glasgow.

M77 site agent Dan Pollard told CJ that Wimpey would deal fairly with the protestors - who also occupy the Scottish site - and admitted that the contractor was paying for security on the site but would not reveal how much it is expected that to cost.
