One of a batch of new minis at Hirex 1995, Sandhurst Mfg (SMC)'s
new 1.4t machine, the MX14-1 mini excavator, generated quite a stir
at this year's show.
Rugged in design, the MX14-1 has been developed by SMC since its
acquistion of Smalley Excavators last year.
Powered by a new water cooled Mitsubishi L3E three- cylinder diesel
developing 15kW at 3,000rpm, the MX14-1 will be available from the
middle of February .
Attractions claimed for the new machine include reduced noise
levels, maximum torque at low speeds and a sharper hydraulic
control layout.
The MX14-1, available with either canopy or all weather cab, has a
digging force of 850kg and maximum digging depth of 2.2m.
SMC products, which include the Starlifter 2.2t mobile crane,
CX220, launched at last year's Hirex, are supplied by distributors
across the UK, including sister company Sandhurst Plant, the UK and
Irish concessionaire for Krupp. New dealerships for the 1.4t mini
have recently been agreed for Devon and Cornwall and South
Humberside.
