BDC puts Quay plan to DoE
The ambitious œ400 million plan to develop Bristol's Quay
Point by developer Argent is to be recommended to the Department of
Environment by Bristol Development Corporation.
Argent's scheme includes 90,000m2 of offices, 9,000m2 of retail
space, several hundred homes, hotel, conference centre and 3,800
space car park.
Argent appears to have successfully ousted a previous plan by
Wilson Connolly. Wilson Connolly had been in negotiations with the
BDC for over a year, when the Corporation suddenly decided to rebid
the scheme last November.
The new tender documents changed the bid conditions under which
Wilson Connolly originally tendered and Argent looks to have stolen
a march on its competitor.
