New firms join Union Link bid
Union Link, one of the four consortia bidding for the œ2.9
billion Chunnel fast rail link, has been joined by two new
companies. One is Setec, a large independent French engineering
company, the other is Kaiser Engineers and Constructors, part of
ICF Kaiser International, the US engineering and construction
group.
The additions to the consortium follow Taylor Woodrow's decision to
pull out of the group last December, after it saw the bid documents
and felt the venture was too risky. The bids for the link are due
to be returned on 14 March 1995.
