Well-positioned TurboWash
TurboWash, a truck underbody and wheel washing system, has recently
been launched by Wimborne-based Morris Swain Engineering.
At the heart of the system, aimed at the quarrying sector, is a
rotating jet head containing multiple heads. In operation, a truck
or off-road machine approaching the TurboWash ramp breaks an
infra-red detector beam which delays the washing sequence until the
vehicle is positioned on the 6m-long ramp.
Actual washing time is 10 seconds and can be set either on timer or
with the beam being re-made, followed by a set delay. This delay
allows for rear wheel washing of 12m-long articulated
vehicles.
A prototype TurboWash installed at Tilcon's Church Farm quarry near
Worcester has been running for nine months.
