BB wins power station project
Balfour Beatty Projects and Engineering has been awarded a œ25
million turnkey contract to build a new power station for PowerGen
CHP.
Balfours will design, build, construct, install, commission, test
and hand over a combined heat and power plant at the Iggesund
Paperboard Company, Workington, Cumbria.
Completion is due in December 1996.
The scheme comprises an LM6000 gas turbine capable of providing
42MW of electricity generation and an auxiliary fired waste heat
recovery boiler which will supply steam for the paper making
process.
Gas compressors, a water treatment plant, fuel oil storage
facilities and other associated civil works are also required.
