Tarmac upgrades docks

Tarmac is hard at work on its œ7.5 million upgrading of Grimsby Docks fish market. Some 200,000m3 of sand has been dredged from the mouth of the Humber and pumped across the dock to form the site of the new fish market, which is lined by a 350m-long sheet pile wall. Now some 450 precast concrete piles and 88 steel piles are being driven. A 4,000m3 concrete slab will be laid to form the base of the fish market.
