US Case reports 29% rise in European plant sales
US plant firm Case Corporation has made an operating profit in the
fourth quarter of 1994 of $67 million (œ45 million), compared
with $38 million (œ25 million) in the fourth quarter of
1993.
For the full year, operating profits were $315 million (œ210
million), compared to $83 million ((œ55 million) for 1993. Net
sales for 1994 were $4.3 billion (œ2.85 billion), up 14% from
1993.
Sales of Case construction equipment in Europe during the fourth
quarter were up 29% over the same period in 1993.
For the year, retail sales of Case units were up 32%, compared to
an industry increase of 16%. Case claims its share of the European
excavator market increased by more than 2% on the strength of its
new excavator line, the 1188 series. The company plans to introduce
several new machines in 1995.
