The pick of œ11m in new orders for Britannia Construction
include a new Tesco store at Thornbury, near Bristol, a 5,520m2
production facility at Olympus Park, Gloucester for Robert Hitchins
Development and a new club house at Brickhampton Golf Club,
Gloucestershire.
Taylor Woodrow Northern has been appointed main contractor for the
building of two Tesco distribution centres, each worth œ4.5m
at Didcot and Chepstow.
Fairview New Homes will start work shortly on a 378 mixed private
housing development near the A13 at Pitsea, near Basildon,
Essex.
Costain Civil Engineering has been awarded a œ3.8m contract by
the Port of London Authority to construct six river groynes on the
River Thames between Tilbury power station and Coalhouse Port. It
also has a œ3.3m contract to construct a 2.3km
interceptor/storage tunnel between Fleetwood and Rossall for NW
Water.
Wrekin Construction has a œ4.3m contract for Stage 3 of the
East Castle Mine treatment works. Old workings will be stabilised
and shafts infilled.
Redpath Engineering Services, part of Trafalgar House, has won a
œ3m M&E contract for part of BNFL's Sellafield waste
treatment complex.
Mowlem has a secured a œ2.5m contract from Sandoz
Pharmaceuticals for a two-storey extension at their existing site
near Camberley, Surrey.
Willmott Dixon has begun work on a œ2.2m project to build 60
new homes for rent on the edge of Peterborough for Circle 33
Housing Trust.
Wates Construction has won a œ2.2m contract to refurbish a
speculative office development - Wellington Gate - Tunbridge Wells
for Hill Samuel Property Unit Trust and Ashmere Securities.
Roadworks has won a œ2m contract for the refurbishment of the
viaduct on the A1011 in Silvertown, East London.
