John Mowlem Construction has appointed Derek Norfolk as regional manager for the Yorkshire and Humberside area. Norfolk, who will be based in Leeds, brings 25 years of management expertise with leading construction contractors.

Mike Joyce has returned to Wimpey Homes to head the company's housebuilding business in South Wales. He is taking charge as the company is expanding its developments from seven to 12.

Ray Gorringe has joined Kier National as commercial director. He joins Kier from the board of Tarmac Construction.

Taywood Homes, has appointed, Bob Wallace as technical manager of its Scottish housebuilding operation.

David McLean Developments has appointed Ian Pritchard as director. Based at the North Wales office, Pritchard will be responsible for sourcing and implementing development opportunities in the UK.

Vibroplant has announced the appointment of Eric Woolley as finance director. Woolley, 35, succeeds Neil Partridge as finance director.

Taylor Woodrow Construction Southern has appointed Brian Cook as general manager for the London Region. Cook joined Taylor Woodrow in 1972 and has gained considerable experience in the London area.

Higgs & Hill Midlands has announced the appointments of Richard Browne as contracts director and Peter Jackson as regional surveying director. Both are based at the Higgs & Hill Midland's head office.

Sir Alexander Gibb & Partners has appointed Peter Brettell as its new managing director. Brettell takes over from Fred Steinbrenner.
