Bristol airport gets go-ahead
Bristol Airport's plan for a replacement œ14 million terminal
has been given the go-ahead. The application was called in by both
the Department of Transport and Department of Environment. Last
week the inquiry inspector finally gave his approval and ruled the
terminal could be built provided a new system of regulating night
flying was introduced. A verdict on BAe's rival scheme to expand
Filton airfield into Bristol's second international airport is not
expected until the autumn.
