Medway tunnel structure nearly there

The structure of the Medway tunnel is now just a month away from completion following a series of major concrete pours by jv Tarmac HBM on the œ70 million scheme.

Some 6,500m3 of concrete was placed in seven pours to form portal base slabs and ballast for the approach structure. The structure will be finished in May with the tunnel opening at the end of the year after fit out.
