Linktip has fitted its new Linklifter side loader to three 'Derby'
refuse collection bodies, built on LDV400 chassis, for Luton
Borough Council.
The side loader, suitable for 3.5t chassis, handles wheeled refuse bins from 120 to 360 litres capacity.
First seen at the Institute of Waste Management Show last year, the Luton Linklifters have been introduced in response to new Manual Handling Regulations, which ban operatives from lifting heavy bins.
Making it safer for the user, controls are fitted externally - away from the bin lift - by the rear wheel arch.
