The pick of new contracts won by Clugston are a new superstore for
Wm. Morrison Supermarkets in Wigan, a œ3.6m contract near
Harwich for Anglian Water, a œ2.6m scheme for a new non-food
retail units and a car showroom at Waterside Retail Park, Ilkeston,
and a œ2.2m contract for a new reservoir for Yorkshire Water
and Babcock Engineering at Gilstead, Bingley.
Amec Civil Engineering has a œ3.6m contract to re-line 80m of
each running tunnel at Old Street Station for London Underground.
Stainless steel tunnel segments will be used to re-line the tunnel.
Bucknall Austin has been appointed project manager of the œ27m
development of Birmingham Children's Hospital. Plans involve
closing the Birmingham General Hospital and using its site for the
Children's Hospital. The original buildings will be refurbished and
new ones built alongside. Work is expected to start in late
1995.
Matthew Hall has been awarded a œ3.5m contract for M&E
services for a new two-storey extension at the Woking Community
Hospital; a œ2.1m contract for Kyle Stewart for new mechanical
and plumbing services at Kingston Crown Court, South London and a
œ2.5m of work for London Underground.
Pearce Construction has a œ3.4m design and construct contract
to build a five-storey office development in Reading for Hill
Samuel Property Unit.
Galliford has secured a œ2.3m contract for a 3,000-seater
stand for Leicester Tigers' rugby club.
PS Turner (Constructions) of Keighley has started work on a
œ2.2m facelift of Leeds City bus station.
North Ayrshire and Arran National Health Service is seeking a
contractor for a management contract to undertake refurbishment
work at Crosshouse Hospital in Kilmarnock, Ayrshire.
Willmott Dixon has a œ1.9m contract to build a new psychiatric
hospital in the grounds of HM Young Offenders Institution in
Aylesbury and a œ1.5m contract to build 28 homes for Newydd HA
on the Glyntaff Estate near Pontypridd.
