Home Office set to award dbfo prisons

The Home Office is due to select its preferred contractors for the long awaited first two DBFO prisons this week - the 800-cell prison at Bridgend, south Wales and the 600-cell prison at Fazakerley on Merseyside. Five consortia are bidding: Mowlem/Robert McAlpine/Corrections Corp of America; Trafalgar House/Wackenhut Corrections Corp/Serco; Group Four/Tarmac; Securicor/WS Atkins/Costain/Seifert/Skanska and Alfred McAlpine/BET.
