May start for Central Gate

A start on site is expected in May on the œ22 million Central Gate production and industrial development project in Birmingham. ICE Developments is to start work on the first 4.8ha of the 10ha site, which will provide an initial 17,480m2 of space. The site is located between the Aston Expressway (A38M) and fronts the A34 at Dartmouth Circus.

The first contract, which is to be awarded soon, covers the infrastructure. It will include construction of a new road junction with the A34 to provide the main thoroughfare into the site. Old buildings will be demolished and the existing road and service patterns rationalised. The site will be developed over the next few years.
